BG Report: JR Super Hakuto train from Kyōto to Kurayoshi

I had a good day of blood sugars on my ride aboard the JR Super Hakuto train today. Generally speaking, I’d rather be a bit low than high, and that’s kind of what happened.

The Super Hakuto is one of JR’s named limited express train services. I rode it end to end, from Kyōto all the way through five prefectures to the smaller city of Kurayoshi, in Tottori Prefecture.

Listening to on-board announcements

My morning BG was 117 at half past seven this morning. After getting to Kyōto station and getting on board the Super Hakuto, my lunchtime check was an equally excellent 124. I had my sushi rolls and Pretz and raw vegetables, fresh from a 7-11 in Kyōto.

A bit later, around 3 pm, I was ready for a small snack. By now, I found I’d handled the rice at lunch pretty well: I was 68, a tad low. I had my snack and the train rolled on, through the green mountains of Hyōgo Prefecture and up to the Sea of Japan.

Later, I checked into my hotel in Kurayoshi and before dinner I was still within the excellent range: 74. I’d call that a nearly perfect train ride, diabetically!
